Members of GIC have created The Robert W. Burchell Fund for Student Planning Conference Travel at Rutgers University to honor Bob’s lifelong commitment to engage planning students with the profession especially through their attendance at planning conferences such as the APA, ACSP, GIC, state and regional conferences, and related. The creation of the fund was announced at the 2018 GIC conference in Scottsdale at an event honoring the 40th anniversary of The Fiscal Impact Handbook. In the short term, we wish to raise $25,000 so that The Burchell Fund can start immediately supporting planning student conference travel. We are already half way there!
